Swanley Neighbourhood Task Force seize more e-bikes!

Dear Residents

This afternoon Swanley NTF Town and NTF sighted two e-bikes riding in Hextable with no insurance and no VRMs.

Officers got behind the riders, and the bikes failed to stop. The biker then ditched his bike in Swanley and made off on foot. Officers chased the male and detained him. 

Whilst rider 1 was being dealt with, the rest of the team attended an address not far from the incident where the other bike was seen being hidden and the rider going inside. Retrospectively, this bike was seized.

All in all, 2 illegal e-bikes were seized for no insurance, and both riders will be reported for failing to stop for police, no insurance, and no license. 

Officers will continue to crack down on illegal e-bikes in the local areas and urge residents to continue reporting this behaviour and sending any footage that might be relevant.
